'Zeeschepsel' is een artistieke interventie die een noodroep is voor de Noordzee.
Hoewel de mens geen zeeschepsel is, voelt hij zich met de zee verbonden. Hij luistert naar haar geluiden om in slaap te vallen en ziet graag de zon in haar zakken. Haar gezondheid baart hem zorgen, die door zijn toedoen achteruitgaat. Hij gebruikt de geliefde oceaan als vuilnisbelt, niet bewust, niet expres, maar omdat hij niet weet hoe hij haar ongeschonden kan laten. Hij plaagt haar met lawaai onder water, zo lang tot ze het niet meer aankan.
Het zeeschepsel wordt tot leven gewekt wanneer je het mechanisme in gang brengt. Door het mechanisme binnenin, beweegt het schepsel erg subtiel als een wezen dat nog amper leeft. Echter wordt ook de soundscape afgespeeld die de herrie onderwater nabootst. De herrie die talloze zeewezens doof maakt, waardoor zij lijden en overlijden. Ik hoop met deze artistieke interventie mensen bewust te maken van wat zich afspeelt in de onderwaterwereld die wij de Noordzee noemen, waar wij zo ver vanaf staan, maar ook zo mee verbonden zijn.
Although man is not a sea creature, he feels connected to the sea. He listens to her sounds to fall asleep and likes to watch the sun sink into her. Her health concerns him, which is deteriorating because of him. He uses the beloved ocean as a garbage dump, not consciously, not on purpose, but because he doesn't know how to leave it intact. He torments her with noise underwater until she can't take it anymore.
The sea creature is brought to life when you activate the mechanism. Due to the mechanism inside, the creature moves very subtly like a creature that is barely alive. However, the soundscape is also played, which mimics the underwater noise. The noise that deafens countless sea creatures, causing them to suffer and die. With this artistic intervention I hope to make people aware of what is happening in the underwater world that we call the North Sea, to which we are so far removed, but also so connected.
